PPA Online Merit Class:
Metamorphosis from Photography to Art with Judy Reinford
Class: 10:00 am - 12:30 pm EST
Lunch Break: 12:30 pm - 1:30 pm EST
Class: 1:30 pm - 5:30 pm. EST
This all-day class will show how to look for images that can turn into beautiful works of art. The focus is heavily on animals. The purpose is to open up the mind of the photographer to think outside of the traditional box. As we continue to have difficulties traveling to amazing destinations, we can dive into our own archives and find a few images of a subject that can be put together to make one amazing image. Travel to your local zoo or photograph a client's dog. Editing and morphing of the images, background discussion, use of the history brush for lighting and painting techniques from prep to final will be demonstrated. First-time painters will get groundwork and experienced painters will be able to run with new content.
Some sample images will be supplied for your own practice along with a custom-designed brush pack and custom painted background by Judy. A recording of the class will be made available to registered attendees approximately one week after the presentation.
Judy uses Photoshop 2020 and above, a Wacom medium tablet and art pen, and NIK DXO for this type of work. She also uses actions, such as Topaz Impression, and will discuss all of these. Attendees are not required to have these tools to attend the class.
Level: Beginner to advanced, something for everyone.
Zoom link and brushes will be emailed to registered attendees approximately two hours before class begins. Your zoom account name must match your registered name to be admitted. Attendance is required to receive your PPA merit. Timely registration will ensure that you receive your link before the class start time. Early registration discount ends after March 8, 2022. No refunds.
About Judy
For 30 plus years Judy Reinford has been a photographer. Specializing in Equine and Pet Photography. I enjoy working with the unpredictability, high energy, and oftentimes challenging task of photographing animals. Can’t take them off-leash? No problem! I can photoshop it out. Available on location or in-studio. As an owner of 7 spoiled Pomeranians, I got this! Equine and Barnyard portraits are also something I love to do. Horses tend to follow me around and I have an addiction to emus! I have been riding again as an adult and am loving every minute in the saddle. So if you want a portraits session at your farm or stables let me know.
When I picked up a camera in the early 1980s while still in high school, I realized what I was meant to do with my life and how to unleash my ever-growing curiosity and creativity.
Judy Reinford has a BFA in Communication Design and Fine Art Photography from Kutztown University in Kutztown, PA.
