Creating Painterly Storytelling Imagery with Amber Damour, M.Photog.

In this course, Amber Damour will dive deep into how to create unique storytelling painterly portraits. She will guide you through the conception of an idea and how to flex your creative muscles to bring that idea to life through intricate post processing. For outdoor portraiture, she will discuss how to find the right natural available light to suit your subject matter as well as camera settings & lens choices to help create the correct canvas for painterly images. We will also discuss studio portraits & lighting techniques. From there, she will move through advanced skin retouching, background adjustments, color grading, painterly touches, adding depth & dimension to your images and more.
This is a full day course. We will be using models & demonstrations in the first half of class, followed by editing and questions after lunch.

Amber is a portrait photographer & composite artist based in Dallas, Texas and she works with children, families, maternity and seniors. She focuses on creating story telling imagery for her clients and designing heirloom artwork for their families.
She started her business in 2016 after the birth of her oldest daughter. She has spent countless hours learning and elevating her craft and now her passion is educating fellow photographers. She joined PPA and her local and state guilds in 2020 and received Master of Photography degree in 2022, as well as my TPPA Associate Fellowship & WPPI Associate designation.
Amber has a very impressive list of Image Awards and has been published in many magazines such as: Professional Photographer Magazine, Lensational Magazine, Child Coture Magazine, Iconic Child Magazine, Voyage Dallas etc.
