Unlock the Magic of Photographing Reflective Surfaces
by Dave Scott
In this workshop we will be reviewing some of the complexities of photographing reflective objects. Specifically glass. We will cover reflective angles and the family of angles and how they can impact your image. To achieve well defined edge definition of glass we will learn the steps to create bright-field lighting techniques as well as dark-field lighting. I will also cover the steps to add additional lighting for appealing reflections and specular highlights in the glass.
Regardless of what type of photography you do, if you photograph reflective materials or products, this workshop will help you better understand how to control light to improve your resulting images. This can all be done with simple off camera lighting equipment and light modifiers you probably already have. Attendees are encouraged to bring your cameras and try some of the techniques you've learned. Dave will have a couple stations set up and will provide assistance - as well as answer any questions you may have.
